Unregistered service stations to be sealed

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar district administration has decided to launch crackdown against over 130 unregistered service stations and seal such establishments in order to conserve water.

A statement issued here said that the deputy commissioner Peshawar expressed his displeasure over operations of unregistered service stations across the provincial capital and ordered their sealing. Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) chief Khan Zeb informed a meeting that currently about 135 such stations were operating in the city without getting registered with the authorities concerned.

He said WSSP would register these stations if they pay registration charges and monthly fee. Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Imran Hamid Sheikh told the meeting that no illegal service station would be allowed to continue operations. He also directed the WSSP to keep water table status in view while granting authorisation to such establishments.
