Arts Council’s new body takes oath

KARACHI: The newly elected body of office-bearers and members of the governing body of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi took oath on Wednesday evening. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah administered the oath.

Prior to the oath-taking ceremony, a new building called Ahmed Shah building was also inaugurated by the chief minister.

The office-bearers who took oath were Ahmed Shah (president), Ather Wiqar Azeem (vice president), Ejaz Faruqi (secretary), Khalid Arain (joint secretary), Qudsia Akbar (treasurer). Members of the governing body were: Talat Husain, Hasina Moin, Kashif Grami, Noorul Huda Shah, Munawar Saeed, Iqbal Latif, Huma Mir, Ambreen Hasib Amber, Ayub Sheikh, Asjad Bukhari, Emu and Uzma Al Karim.  

The following are five co-opted members who took oath: Mohammad Bashir Khan, Syed Saadat Ali Ja­fri, Chand Gul Sh­­ah, Farrukh Shahab and Shakil Khan.
