Education facilities sough in Karak, Bannu

PESHAWAR: The people of various localities on the border between Karak and Bannu districts have demanded of the federal and provincial governments to establish educational facilities, provide natural gas and construct roads in the areas.

The demands were made during a jirga held at the hujra of a social activist, Zafar Ali Khan Wazir, in Jhangi village of Domel in Bannu district, according to a statement issued here the other day.

The jirga was attended by people from various villages and hamlets of the two districts. They said the areas along the border of Karak and Bannu remained long neglected and needed education and healthcare facilities.

The speakers said the successive governments had failed to provide for basic civic amenities in Domel and other small and big villages falling along the border of Bannu and Karak.

They demanded of the federal and provincial governments and the military authorities to establish a cadet college in the area as the locals had always opted to join the armed forces.

Our areas have always remained deprived and lagged behind in education and other facilities, they said.

The participants complained that the elected representatives also neglected the areas.
