NIP stipends

THE National Internship Programme (NIP) was launched by the previous government for young graduates so that they could acquire knowledge and have a one-year opportunity to learn in their respective fields.

Thousands of graduates completed their one-year internship. The scheme helped many poor students who would receive a monthly stipend of Rs15,000.

Unfortunately, this internship was abolished after the PTI government came to power. The incumbent government is also delaying the disbursement the payment of the remaining stipends of the interns.

NIP has been informing the graduates that stipends would be sent to their accounts soon but this has not been done so far. The one-year internship was completed in June, but the interns have still not received their stipends for the last five months.

The ministry of inter-provincial coordination and the authorities concerned should release the remaining stipend amount.
