Two guards held for stabbing Chinese man in Defence

KARACHI: Police on Friday arrested two security guards in Jamshoro for their alleged involvement in wounding a Chinese national and looting Rs3 million from him on Thursday night in the Defence area.

DIG South Sharjeel Karim Kharal identified the held suspects as Abdul Fatah and Abdul Ghaffar, who worked for a private security company.

He said that the Chinese man, Shi Qingpu, lived in Defence Phase VI and the two guards were posted at his house.The Darakshan police said that the guards stabbed him on Thursday night and took away Rs3m. He was taken to a private hospital in Clifton, where his condition was said to be stable.

After receiving information about the incident, the DIG South had established a special team, which managed to arrest the suspects at Jamshoro Toll Plaza.

The police recovered the looted cash, a mobile phone and a knife, the crime weapon, and a Mauser from them.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Dr Syed Kaleem Imam appreciated the performance of the DIG South and DIG Hyderabad for arresting the suspects.
