TIMERGARA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPAs Shafiullah Khan and Liaquat Ali said on Thursday that the government was committed to improving standard of education in the public sector schools.

Addressing a function at Balambat here after distribution of appointment orders among 441 primary school teachers, the lawmakers said that the government believed in merit and over 40,000 teachers had been recruited in the province during the last five years.

The function was attended by district education officer Mohammad Riaz, newly-recruited teachers and leaders of Insaf Teachers Association. The DEO distributed copies of the appointment orders among the new teachers.

The lawmakers asked the teachers to work devotedly as the government had trusted them. They said that it was the responsibility of teachers to guide the new generation toward progress and development.

They vowed that the PTI government would resolve all issues of the people of Dir.

Speaking on the occasion, the DEO said that a total of 663 teachers were inducted into the education department in Lower Dir during one week.

Meanwhile, All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), Lower Dir chapter, on Thursday alleged that the PTI lawmakers were interfering in posting and transfer of government employees in Lower Dir.

Talking to mediapersons, the APCA leaders alleged that a sports assistant, Ibrar Ahmad, was replaced by a school teacher in sports’ department on the recommendation of MPA Liaquat Ali. They demanded of the concerned authorities to take notice of the matter and restore Mr Ahmad on the post.

Also in the day, Balambat tehsil nazim Imranuddin condemned the distribution of appointment orders among teachers in the presence of MPAs and said the teachers had been recruited through NTS test and interview.

He said former minister Muzaffar Said of Jamaat-i-Islami had sanctioned those posts and the present MPAs were trying to take its credit.
