PTI ticket aspirant withdraws from by-poll

MANSEHRA: Differences within the PTI over the nomination for the PK-30 by-election ended after one of the two aspirants announced that he was no more running for the ticket.

“I withdrawal myself from the Feb 26 electoral race in support of my party colleague, Ahmad Hussain Shah,” Mushtaq Khan told a publicmeeting here on Wednesday.

The event, which was held to convince Mushtaq Khan not to contest the by-election, was also attended among others by Senator Azam Khan Swati, MNA Salah Mohammad Khan, PTI aspirant Ahmad Hussain Shah and former chairman Shahjehan Khan.

Mr Mushtaq, who had lost the 2018 general elections, said PTI chief and Premier Imran Khan had sensitised party workers to their rights.

Senator Swati said Ahmad Hussain Shah, who had lost the 2018 polls by 270 votes only on the Pakistan People’s Party ticket, would win the by-election as the PTI candidate by a thumbing majority.

MNA Salah Mohammad said the PTI government would soon announce a development package for the poor segment of society.

Mr Ahmad Hussain said if the people voted him to power, he would address the core issues of the people in Balakot tehsil.
