IT is good to know the government is pondering reverting the uniform of Punjab police back to its old colours. I can say with a degree of certainty that the old uniform was just good enough.

Former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif wanted to award the contract to supply new uniform (the cost must have run into millions of rupees) to one of his blue-eyed boys to help him become rich overnight.

The colour of new Punjab police uniform is dull and drab.

But the reality is that it is never too late to apply brakes if something is going drastically wrong.

Last but not least, the money squandered on new uniform should be recovered from Shahbaz Sharif.
