KARACHI: “The solid work that you have done in the Karachi Municipal Corporation is a testimony to what can be done by Muslims within the sphere of civil welfare and the consolidation of the Muslim nation as a whole,” said Mr. M. A. Jinnah at an ‘At Home’ given in his honour by the Muslim League Party in the Karachi Municipal Corporation.

Mr. Jinnah advised them to work together as brothers and in a team spirit. “Therein lies the strength of the Muslim nation,” said Mr. Jinnah.

Dr. Khan, Leader of the Muslim League Party, announced that the Party had been able to establish in practice a convention by which 40 per cent of the new appointments in the Corporation would go to Muslims.

He referred to the Party’s programme for improving the living conditions of the people in slum areas and bettering the health sanitation services in the city in general. He said the photo of Mr. Jinnah would be placed in the Municipal Khalikdina Hall.
