Unemployed youth

THE educated youth of Punjab is still waiting for jobs. We voted in favour of the current government because it promised us 10 million jobs.

I would like to ask them now: where are those promised jobs? For some reason they’ve put a ban on jobs in Punjab since September. According to the provincial and culture minister, the provincial cabinet had decided to impose a ban on all recruitments in Punjab till a new policy was formed. It has been more than three months to this statement and nothing has been done as yet.

I ask the prime minister to please look into this.

THE federal and provincial governments are destroying the country’s youth by not providing them the jobs they were promised. Youth unemployment has been one of the most important issues being faced by our country.

It is estimated that only 39 per cent of the youth is employed while 61pc is still deprived of jobs.

The ratio of the unemployed youth in all provinces is increasing at an alarming rate. Growing population, corruption, lack of job opportunities, nepotism and egotism in the government as well as the private sector have been major causes of youth unemployment. Because of this, a number of well-educated and deserving young men and women are jobless.
