Action ordered on recommendations for service reforms

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the establishment department to implement the recommendations of a cabinet committee regarding the demands of the Provincial Management Service (PMS) officers in letter and spirit.

The cabinet committee was formed by the last PTI government following a three weeks long pen-down strike by the PMS officers to press for their demands, especially repatriation of all deputationists, and its report the committee had agreed to most of the officers’ demands.

The chief minister wrote a letter to the establishment secretary lately asking him to ensure the implementation of the decisions made the cabinet committee.

In a statement issued here, the PCS Officers Association said the token protest by its members had entered 36th day as they went to their workplaces wearing black armbands.

It demanded the immediate repatriation of all deputationists, cancelation of the 1993 job apportionment formula for provincial and federal cadres in KP, and filling of 200 vacancies by promoting PMS officers.
