Audience interrupt Chohan’s speech

LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hasan Chohan faced an awkward situation on Thursday when audience at the National Youth Assembly objected to his criticism of opposition.

The venue was Town Hall and the minister was the chief guest. As he started speaking against the opposition parties, some of the youth assembly members stood up, requesting him to stop doing so since the forum was not a political one. However, the minister continued speaking, forcing the members to lodge protest.

“I will continue raising my voice against those who have looted this country,” Mr Chohan said while continuing his speech.

Police intervened into the situation and took the protesting members out of the hall.

After the end of his speech, the minister administered oath to new NYA members.

Music award: Minister for Information and Culture Fayazul Hassan Chohan has announced that the Punjab government will hold ‘Voice of Punjab Award’ in the field of music on a yearly basis and first three winners of the competition will be given cash prizes and their CDs will be released.

He was the chief guest at a book launch at the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture on Thursday where noted writer Pervaiz Kalim had launched his collection of short stories titled ‘ Rang’.
