Man commits suicide

RAWALPINDI: A man committed suicide by hanging himself in his bedroom in Dhoke Hassu while another was killed after being hit by a train near Chaklala on Monday, police said.

Umar Farooq, 27, a resident of Dhoke Hassu and a driver by profession, was found hanging with a piece of rope tied to the ceiling of his bedroom.

The incident came to light when his younger sister opened the door of her brother’s bedroom.

Police investigating officer said the motive behind the suicide was yet to be established as no suicide note was found from the scene.

In another incident a 65-year-old was crossing the track near Chaklala when a passenger train hit him. He died on the spot due to head injury.

Later his body was shifted to hospital by the Rescue 1122 staff.
