ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) collection during the month of November grew by 1.87 per cent year-on-year to Rs277.24 billion – the smallest increase in a month in recent past.

The revenue collection fell short of the target owing the Inland Revenue’s poor performance.

On the other hand, tax refunds paid in November declined to Rs11.78bn against Rs13.2bn, down by 10.75pc revealing that the government blocked tax refunds to register higher figures during the period.

Between July-November, revenue collection reached to Rs1,381bn against Rs1,305bn over the corresponding months last year; reflecting an increase of 5.8pc growth. On monthly basis, the Inland Revenue Service collection posted Rs28bn shortfall.

FBR has missed all revenue collection targets since July this year.
