Restaurant owner’s house burgled

RAWALPINDI: In one of the biggest burglaries in the city’s history, a restaurant owner was deprived of cash, prize bonds and gold ornaments, police said on Tuesday.

Burglars broke into his house in his absence on Misryal Road.

In his complaint, Babar Mughal told the Westridge police that he was at his restaurant on Monday while his family had gone to a doctor in Saddar, when some burglars broke into his house and made off with cash and valuables.

He said when his family returned, they found the door locks broken and households scattered inside the room.

On listing the stolen goods, he found Rs5 million, prize bonds worth Rs2.5 million, gold jewellery weighing 25 tolas and two mobile phones missing.

Police have registered a case on the complaint of Babar Mughal and launched investigations.
