Families of missing people hold protest

QUETTA: Hundreds of relatives of missing persons took out a procession and staged a sit-in on Monday, demanding recovery of their near and dear ones and their production in court if they were involved in crimes.

Protesters, including women, children, human rights activists, lawyers, political workers and civil society members, took part in the procession, which started from Railways Station. Carrying placards and banners and raising slogans, the protesters marched on different roads.

Calling for acceptance of their demands, the protesters tried to make their way for a sit-in outside the Balochistan High Court’s building which was thwarted at Hali Road by the local administration and security personnel. Instead, they staged the sit-in at Hali Road for several hours, causing traffic jams all around Quetta.
