Kite string claims child’s life

KARACHI: A kite string on Sunday claimed the life of a minor boy in Korangi.

Five-year-old Aliyan Asif sustained critical injuries when his neck was cut by a kite string in Korangi-3.

He was initially taken to a private hospital, which referred him to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival ostensibly due to excessive bleeding, said Dr Seemin Jamali, executive director of the hospital.

Further details could not be obtained immediately as both the Korangi and the Awami Colony police stations were disputing over the incident’s jurisdiction.
