Need for public library

LIBRARIES are important and should be accessible to people in every town and village. Books help open an individual’s mind and perspective.

While the world is moving forward with advanced technology in library information systems, Sindh’s libraries are suffering. People in bigger cities of the province have access to libraries and research centres but in smaller towns such as Johi, Wahi Pandhi, we have nothing.

Our area, which falls in Dadu district, has a population of 50,000 people. The old and the young have nothing constructive to do with their time. I believe if they had access to books and magazines they would be more productive and ambitious.

People believe that it is their bad luck that elected representative never focus attention on education or places for learning.

Johi needs support from the government to develop a healthy reading culture.
