Teenage boy killed in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: Armed men allegedly killed a teenage boy for refusing to keep friendship with them in Sulemankhel locality of Tajori town here on Friday.

Police said that Samiullah, 14, was going home after offering evening prayer in the village mosque when the gunmen opened fire on him. They said that the boy received multiple bullets and died instantly. They said that the alleged killers wanted to keep forced association with the boy.

Complainant Ameer Hussain told police that he and his brother Samiullah were intercepted by Gul Sherin and his brother Salahuddin who were armed with weapons.

“Both the men told Samiullah that they had warned him not to keep any relation with Najibullah, but he turned a deaf ear to them,” Mr Hussain claimed, adding that at the same time they opened firing on Samiullah and killed him on the spot.

He said he along with the villagers took the body to local hospital. Tajori police registered the case and have started search for the alleged killers.

BIRDS SEIZED: Officials of the wildlife department seized 14 red legged partridges and 18 parrots from a carrier identified as Sajidullah at Wanda Banochi checkpost here on Friday.

Range officer Mir Aslam told this correspondent that a case had been registered against the alleged carrier.

Separately, the wildlife department, Tank range, foiled a bid to smuggle a falcon and arrested a man. Ateam headed by range officer Abdur Rehman intercepted one Adam Khan, resident of Wana, and seized a falcon from him. A case has been registered against him.
