Winter & loadshedding

THE Quetta grid station generates 132 KV power, but the city has an average loadshedding of six hours.

This has been affecting the city’s water supply which depends on underground water.

With winter now well set, there is an acute gas shortage in the province. With the required degree of electricity not available, gas could have been an alternative, but its absence is proving disastrous. The situation will worsen when temperatures would go down to minus 10 degrees Celsius with the snowfall.

The government should cut loadsheddings or increase the gas supply to lessen people’s sufferings.
