There was no issue of the newspaper on Nov 7, 1968 on account of Shab-i-Barat. The following extract is from the previous day’s issue.

DACCA: Prosecution in the Agartala Conspiracy case before the Special Tribunal here today [Nov 5] declared hostile one more witness, Abul Hussain (26), a motor driver in a private firm, and cross-examined him. Prosecution had ­earlier declared hostile two other witnesses....

Prosecution counsel, Mr T.H. Khan, with the permission of the court, declared hostile Abul Hussain after the witness in his examination-in-chief had said that he did not know the house of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and that he had never visited his house. The witness denied that he was threatened with life and due to that he was deposing falsely to help the defence. The defence declined further cross-examination.

Nine more prosecution witnesses, most of whose evidence related to search and seizure in connection with the case, were examined today. These included three Sub-Inspectors of Police. The cross examination of two of the witnesses was postponed till tomorrow.
