20 suspected criminals held in different areas

KARACHI: The city police and Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, on Tuesday arrested more than 20 suspected criminals in different areas. The suspects were wanted in different cases ranging from robberies to street crimes and from drug peddling to possessing illegal arms.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, said that the paramilitary force arrested eight suspects in Landhi, Kharadar and SITE, who were wanted mostly in street crime cases. In two separate actions, the paramilitary force arrested two suspected members of a criminal gang operating in Lyari from Landhi and Chakiwara. The held suspects — Sanaullah and Muneer — had been actively associated with a Lyari criminal gang for the past several years, he said.

The city police in Gabol Town arrested a drug peddler, Haroon, and seized a huge quantity of charas from his possession. The Clifton police arrested two street crime suspects — Owais Ali and Ali Ahmed — and seized several snatched mobile phones from them.

Security for temples

Sindh Inspector General Dr Syed Kaleem Imam has issued directives to all deputy inspectors general across the province to strengthen security around temples and other worship places of the Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali.
