Kohat city gets traffic wardens

KOHAT: Traffic warden system was formally introduced in Kohat city with the slogan of ‘first Salam and then talk’ following a flag march on Thursday.

Wardens in their new uniform took positions at all important squares and launched patrolling on their new vehicles and motorcycles in the city.

Earlier, district police officer Wahid Mehmood approved a week of awareness sessions at schools, colleges and universities about traffic rules and road safety which had already been started for general public.

Talking to the wardens, he said that their good performance would build up the image of police and end corruption. He hoped that all complaints of the people about the behaviour of traffic police would now be removed Mr Mehmood asked them to work with the spirit of public service and uphold the rule of law for which they had been provided lifters, cars, pickup vans and motorcycles. He said that the traffic system was the mirror of civilised nations therefore they should come up to expectations of the people.
