Polyclinic sets up medical board for Shahbaz

ISLAMABAD: Polyclinic on Monday constituted a medical board to examine Shahbaz Sharif, leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, who is currently in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The four-member medical board headed by Physician Dr Asif Irfan was constituted after the hospital was intimated that Shahbaz Sharif, who was being shifted to Islamabad to attend the National Assembly session, would be brought to the hospital.

According to reports, leader of the opposition had submitted an application with the NAB court informing it that he was a cancer patient and not receiving a proper treatment.

Executive Director Polyclinic Dr Shahid Hanif, while talking to Dawn, said though they didn’t have oncologist, but the medical board had cardiologist and other consultants. Replying to a question Dr Hanif said they had spared a room for the leader of the opposition and members of medical board had been kept on a standby.
