SHARMEEN Obaid-Chinoy speaks at the trailer launch.

KARACHI: The trailer for the third and last part of the animated franchise 3 Bahadur titled 3 Bahadur — Rise of the Warriors was launched at a local multiplex on Wednesday evening.

Actor Faysal Qureshi hosted the event. Answering his question about the finale of the series, creative director of the production company SOC Films, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, said she’s excited about the film because there are many warriors in the final edition. She has invested a lot in female characters, and there are quite a few female superheroes in the story. Amna, Kamil and Saadi (names of the principal characters) have become household names. This time around, there are new characters of Ghonchu (voiceover done by Fahim), Irma (Mehwish Hayat) and Babushka (Nimra Bucha); and Dino Chacha (Behroz Sabzwari) has made a comeback in the story. Also, Fahad Mustafa is in the role of the father [of Saadi].

Jarjees Seja, who represented ARY Films at the presser, said after doing the second part of the animated series they entertained the idea of coming up with a new movie. Then they thought that the [young] characters of the film had developed a relationship with the kids [audience], and after a while they would outgrow the target audience that they had in mind. So, they went on with the final episode.

Fahad Mustafa said after the iconic TV serial Ainak Wala Jinn, Pakistani children didn’t have characters to identify with. But with 3 Bahadur that shortcoming no longer exists. He also mentioned that his own children love the characters and songs of the film.

Behroz Sabzwari said to convince the audience with your voice is a special job. He has been doing [performances on] radio from a young age therefore he enjoys being in front of the microphone. He lauded Ms Chinoy for being careful with the language used in the script.

Nimra Bucha said it’s her first movie with SOC Films. She usually does weepy roles, but in this movie she will be seen fighting other characters. When she was asked to come and meet Ms Chinoy, she said she needed to see the picture of Babushka to get an idea about her character.

Zahab Khan, the young man who lends his voice to Saadi, said he thought that part II of the film was the end of the story, but then he received a call asking him to do part III.

Khalid Malik, Fahim, Bashar, Shaha Tariq and representatives of the sponsors of the film also spoke. In between conversations, the trailer was shown.

3 Bahadur — Rise of the Warriors will release on Dec 14.
