NBP earnings up 10pc

KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) posted 9MCY18 profit at Rs16.18 billion (EPS: Rs7.60), up 10 per cent from Rs14.71bn (EPS: Rs6.91) in same period last year.

The NBP recorded pre-tax profit of Rs23.12bn, slightly lower than Rs23.22bn in 9MCY17 while net interest income increased by 13.7pc to Rs43.55bn, from Rs38.31bn in corresponding period last year.

Overall non-interest income for the period amounted to Rs22.49bn, lower by 2.15pc than Rs22.99bn same period last year.—Staff Reporter


Pak Suzuki profit plunges 55pc: Pak Suzuki Motor Company reported 9MCY18 profit after tax at Rs1.39 billion and earnings per share at Rs16.92, down 55pc, from PAT at Rs3.10bn and EPS at Rs37.63 in same period last year.

Turnover gew 22pc to Rs89.1bn, from Rs72.8bn. The decline was attributed by analysts to margin depletion, increase in administrative expenses and effective tax rate rising to 44pc, from 31pc.

Kot Addu PAT jumps 43pc: The company’s PAT rose 43pc to Rs3.1bn (EPS: Rs3.54) for the quarter ended Sept 30, from Rs2.2bn (EPS: Rs2.48). Sales jumped 46pc to Rs31.6bn, from Rs21.6bn.

Nestle Pakistan earns Rs8.6bn: Nestle Pakistan earned Rs8.6bn for 9MFY18, down from Rs11.3bn. Earnings per share slipped to Rs190.27, from EPS of Rs249.88 while net sales climbed to Rs94.1bn in 9MFY18 from Rs92.4bn.

Pakistan Tobacco posts Rs9.3bn profit: Pakistan Tobacco Company’s profit for 9MFY18 stood at Rs9.3bn, up from Rs6.8bn, translating into EPS at Rs36.38, from Rs26.44 in same period last year.

Net turnover increased to Rs39.3bn, from Rs30.2bn.
