Two men attack LHWs during anti-measles drive

GUJRANWALA: Two men allegedly thrashed a lady health worker (LHW) on Friday in Khayali area.

According to police, LHWs Tahira Nasreen and Nusrat went to Ajmal Town for vaccination under the ongoing anti-measles campaign. When they knocked at the door of a house, occupants Bin Yameen and his son Waseem attacked the team and brutally roughed up Tahira and ran off from the scene.

Tahira was shifted to the divisional headquarters hospital. Khayali police reached the scene and were looking into the matter.

EGGS: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized 210,000 rotten eggs from a cold storage on Thursday and disposed them of at a PFA site. They also disposed of 1,055 litres of adulterated milk.

A PFA team reached Jalal cold storage and seized 210,000 rotten eggs. They imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on the owner for not storing the eggs properly and providing the record. A team also checked various milk vans and disposed of 1,055 litres of adulterated milk.
