LAHORE: The city district administration on Thursday retrieved 516 kanal state land from the land grabbers during the day-long operation in the provincial capital.

According to a spokesman, a team, led by Model Town’s assistant commissioner launched an operation at village Assu, retrieving 500 kanal of agriculture land. The team also demolished structures, animal sheds and other constructions. Another team, led by Shalimar AC, retrieved 16 kanal land during an operation at Bargrian.

LOUNGES: The city administration has started work to build state-of-the-art passenger lounges at various spots. In a meeting, presided over by the deputy commissioner, the participants were briefed on the places identified for the lounges at Badami Bagh, Data Darbar, Vegetable Market, railway station and Lorry Adda.
