370,870 more kids inoculated in anti-measles drive

LAHORE: Up to 370,870 more children have been inoculated against the target of the first two days of the ongoing anti-measles campaign.

Health Department vaccinators achieved 111 per cent the success rate by inoculating 3.71 million children against the target of 3.34 million in the age group of six months to seven years, Health Services Director-General Dr Munir Ahmad said on Wednesday.

Sharing data on big districts with reporters, Dr Ahmad said that in the last two days teams inoculated 372,556 children in Lahore, 161,402 in Multan, 166,321 in Rawalpindi, 250,892 in Faisalabad, 107,994 in Bahawalpur and 178,316 children in Gujranwala.

He said the vaccine being used in the campaign was of international standard and WHO certified. “The same measles vaccine is being used in other provinces as well as other countries for being safe and of best quality,” he said.
