Alyani wants China to make Balochistan youths skilled workforce
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minster Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has sought the help of China in turning Balochistan’s youths into a competent technical human resource.
Official sources said here on Monday that CM Alyani, along with Chief Secretary Akhtar Nazeer and other senior officials, held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr Yao Jing and discussed the pace of work and implementation on the ongoing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Balochistan.
Mr Alyani said that CPEC had great importance for the development of Balochistan and the future of young generation of the province was linked with this project.
“This mega project will lay the foundation of economic stability of the country and especially Balochistan,” the chief minister said.
He said that there was need to provide modern skills to our youths to prepare them to face future challenges.
“China can play an important role in providing required skills to our youths,” the chief minister said.
In the meeting, the Balochistan delegation discussed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)-related development projects and highlighted vast opportunities that existed in the province for foreign investment.
Mr Alyani said that CPEC would create thousands of jobs and reduce unemployment problem to a great extent.
The chief minister said that the provincial government had made the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBIT) functional to provide all facilities to foreign investors under one window.
He said that there was dire need for mineral zones and mineral parks to be created in Balochistan under CPEC and the provincial government would provide all facilities and security to foreign companies interested in making investment in this regard in the province.
The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Yao Jing, while discussing proposals presented by the chief minister, said that Balochistan and Gwadar Port were key stakeholders in CPEC. He held out an assurance that the Chinese government would seriously review the issues discussed in the meeting.
