Workshop for first aid responders held

KHAR: A three-day training workshop for first aid responders concluded here on Thursday.

The workshop was organised by Pakistan Red Crescent’s local chapter which was attended by over 30 members of the first aid responders teams of different areas of the district.

The volunteers of PRC were imparted techniques about how to response in emergency situations besides carrying out rescue activities. They were briefed about giving first aid to a victim during any unpleasant incident during the workshop.

The volunteers also demonstrated practical exercise about first aid and rescue activities on the last day of the workshop, which was held at Bajaur Sports Complex under the supervision of officials and trainers of the PRC’s district chapter.

Talking to mediapersons, Dr Iftikhar Ahmed, head of the local first aid section, said that the purpose of the training was to boost capacity of members of the first aid responders. He said that the participants showed interest in the workshop and learned techniques about first aid and rescue activities.

He pointed out that Bajaur was more vulnerable to different types of disasters. He said that such trainings were necessary to manage the situation in case of any calamity.
