Officials told to eliminate delays in ACE cases

KARACHI: Adviser to chief minister for information, law and anti-corruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab has directed anti-corruption officials that all corruption-related complaints must be decided on within 90 days if evidence is present; the cases should be filed in an Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) accordingly otherwise the complaints be disposed of.

Mr Wahab issued this directive during his meeting with officers of the ACE at his office on Wednesday. Referring to inordinate delays in disposal of corruption complaints, he warned that negligence would not be tolerated.

Highlighting the need for multiple checks, Mr Wahab told them to ensure visible changes at all levels. “If any evidence is not found against any person in any case or a complaint is received involving the harassment of innocent people, due action would be taken according to the law against the respective officer/ officials.”
