RDA issues notice to ‘illegal’ housing scheme

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) issued notice to a housing scheme for carrying out ‘illegal’ advertisement and marketing of the project.

The Organic Farms Islamabad is located on Chakri Interchange of Motorway near Cadet College, Rawalpindi.

According to a press release, Jamshaid Aftab, Director, Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) said The OrganicFarmswas not approved from RDA, and as per law the scheme was ‘illegal’.

“The owners of the property are running ‘illegal’housing schemebookingofficesin violation of Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules2010,” the director said.

RDA has asked the private housing schemes that without getting NOC from the RDA for launching housing schemes, apartment projects, commercial buildings, etc., all sorts of advertisement, marketing and development of such projects through advertisement agencies, private limited companies, civil proprietorships are illegal.

Therefore, RDA advises general public in their own interest that they should not make any investment in the housing scheme since its status is illegal. Otherwise, they themselves would be responsible for their losses.

“Moreover, the sponsors of The OrganicFarmsare also warned to immediately stop the marketing of their unapproved / illegal housing scheme and should contact RDA for getting NOC / approval of the scheme as per law, otherwise, strict legal action will be taken against them,” the press release said.
