KARACHI: Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police Amjid Jawaid Saleemi has hinted that police investigators may take DNA samples of provincial lawmaker Sharjeel Inam Memon in the liquor case.

He was talking to the media at a medical camp set up by the South police at Reti Lane in connection with Defence Day on Thursday.

When asked about the progress made so far in the case, the provincial police chief said investigation was going on. “No final comments can be made at this stage,” he said.

On the question about sending DNA and blood samples to a laboratory in Islamabad, the IG replied that all required steps would be followed.
