Man killed in accident

ISLAMABAD: A man was killed in a road accident in capital, police said on Tuesday.

According to details, Amir Taj, a native of Sawabi, was on his motorcycle when he was hit by a dumper at Tarnol Road as a result he suffered critical injuries and was shifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The dumper driver escaped leaving behind his vehicle.

Meanwhile, three armed robbers looted a house in Ghori Town of cash and valuables worth Rs250,000 after locking the house inmates in a room.

The robbers came to the house and rang the door bell and introduced themselves as members of Tableeghi Jamat. They entered the house when the door was opened.

In another incident two armed robbers looted property dealers of Rs350,000 in cash at Latherar Road, police added.

Asmat Mehmood and his business partner were discussing some issue in a vehicle parked along roadside when two armed persons held them at gunpoint.

The culprits snatched Rs50,000 from Mehmood and Rs300,000 from his partner. They also took with them ATM cards, cheques, vehicle’s registration book and mobiles.

Moreover, a Suzuki Carry of Mohammad Ishaq, Mehran car of Haq Nawaz, XLI of Naeem Khan and Mehran of Shahid Mehmood were stolen from different areas of Islamabad.
