KARACHI: Half-a-dozen horses have been lined up for The Splendid Cup which is slated to take place in the summer Gmkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The cup race which is third in racing order, has been bracketed in combined scale order III and IV and will be contested over four-and-a-half furlongs. It will also serve as the day’s feature event.

Altogether, 22 horses will battle it out for the honours barring last-minute withdrawal in a small and mediocre four-race card that has been drawn for the day.

With the exceptiomn of first race that will go over four furlongs, the remaining three will be run over four-and-a-half furlongs.

Meanwhile, the first race starts at 3.15pm.
