Pims staff told to mark attendance with biometric machine

ISLAMABAD: Pims has directed its doctors and staff to mark their attendance using biometric attendance machines, after being directed by the federal government to implement a biometric attendance system.

According to a circular available with Dawn, Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) manager Manzar Abbas Naqvi will act as the coordinator of the biometric system of all components of Pims with immediate effect.

“All the employees of Pims including doctors, post graduates, health officers, nurses, paramedics and other supporting staff are directed to make their attendance through biometric machine,” the circular stated.

Pims Executive Director Dr Raja Amjad told Dawn the system had been introduced on government directives and expressed the hope that staff would ensure they reach the hospital on time.
