No proscribed outfit can collect hides

LAHORE: The Punjab government is strictly disallowing the proscribed organisations to collect hides during Eidul Azha.

The organisations include 18 which have been proscribed by the UN. They mainly include JuD, Jaish-i-Muhammad, Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation and Al Qaeda. In addition, Pakistan has banned 54 such organisations.

Officials on Sunday said the deputy commissioners in the province had been asked to strictly ensure implementation of the ban on collection of hides by the proscribed organisations. Those found violating the restriction would be booked under Section144 of the PPC and Anti-terrorism Act.

Officials said the government was keeping an eye on JuD and FIF in pursuance of the UN restrictions on them.
