No compromise on KP’s share in CPEC: Qaisar

SWABI: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar said on Sunday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led central government won’t compromise on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s share in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

Addressing a public gathering on his arrival in his home town after assuming charge of the NA Speaker, Mr Qaisar said during the PTI government in the province he had fought a legal battle for KP’s share in CPEC.

He thanked PTI chief and Prime Minister Imran Khan for reposing trust in him and honouring the people of Swabi.

He said the PTI government’s top priority was to generate jobs for youth.

Mr Qaisar said he had held a meeting with Wapda officials and asked them to end undue power outages.

He said the officials told him about lack of staff and financial constraints and added that the government would meet the financial needs of Wapda.

He thanked the people for voting PTI to power and said the party would not damage their trust.

He said the prime minister had given great importance to KP because the people of the province had voted PTI to power for the second time.

He said incomplete projects in Swabi would be complete and new projects would be initiated.

Earlier, Mr Qaisar was given a rousing welcome when he reached Swabi interchange on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway.

He was brought to his native village in a big procession.

PTI leaders and workers said that nomination of Mr Qaisar as NA Speaker was great honour for the district.

“Mr Qaisar is known as speaker in the district because he has also remained speaker of KP Assembly during the PTI government in the province,” said MPA Rangaiz Khan.
