Smeda opens facilitation centre

PESHAWAR: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority has established the regional business coordination office at the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry here to facilitate the representatives of small and medium enterprises.

The facility was inaugurated by Smeda chief executive officer Sher Ayub Khan during a special ceremony on Thursday.

SCCI president Zahidullah Khan Shinwari, senior manager Rashid Aman, Smeda provincial chief Javed Khattak and representatives of traders and industrialists were also present on the occasion.

Mr Khattak briefed the SCCI office-bearers regarding public sector development programme-funded projects funded by Smeda.

He highlighted the honey processing and packaging and textile CFCs and ongoing fruit dehydration unit, Mingora, and Economic Revitalisation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata project.

The Smeda chief highlighted the future projects for SME development.

Rashid Aman highlighted the role of RBC at chamber and said it would facilitate representatives of SMEs by providing them with the required information and support.

SCCI president Zahidullah Shinwari appreciated the Smeda’s efforts for the facilitation of SMEs.

He lauded the ERKF project and said the initiative provided an opportunity to hundreds of SMEs to rehabilitate their businesses. He appreciated the capacity building component of the project and said SMEs should be trained to meet international standards.
