Spate of robberies hits Wah, Taxila

TAXILA: A number of home burglaries and street robberies have recently occurred in the limits of the Wah Saddar and Taxila police stations.

Five armed individuals held a family at gunpoint in Wah in the early hours of Wednesday, while in a separate incident two people were robbed at gunpoint in the limits of the Wah Saddar police station.

The family of Rana Umair were held at gunpoint and robbed of Pakistani and foreign curreny, gold ornaments and other valuables before the robbers fled.

The same day, four people on two motorcycles intercepted Osama and Mohammad Ahmed, also on a motorcycle, and robbed them of cash and their mobile phones at gunpoint.

In the early hours of Sunday, four armed men scaled the wall of Sheikh Owais’ house in the Wah Saddar police area and held the family at gunpoint.

They robbed the family of cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs700,000.

In another incident in the Wah police area, burglars broke into the home of Sharif Ali and stole cash, gold ornaments and other valuables.

Three armed individuals on a motorcycle also intercepted Mohammad Bilal in the Taxila police station’s limits and stole his motorcycle and cash at gunpoint before fleeing.

In the Wah Saddar area, two armed men on a motorcycle robbed an official from a mobile phone company, Adeel Ahmed, of cash and mobile phone cards.

A car belonging to Syed Yousaf Shah was stolen from Wah Model Town, another car belonging to Zaffar Iqbal was stolen from the Officer’s Colony area, a van belonging to Zarwali Khan was stolen from Aslam Market, a motorcycle belonging to Mohammad Zubair was stolen from Faisal Shaheed Road and a motorcycle belonging to Hashim Ali was stolen from Wah Cantt.
