Model Town Club win

LAHORE: Model Town Club edged out Islamabad 4-3 in a thrilling final to win the National Women U-19 Football Championship here at the City School Football Ground on Sunday.

At half-time, the winners led 3-1. After the interval, Islamabad staged a comeback reducing the lead to 3-2 after which rain interrupted play. Following resumption, both sides scored one more goal giving Model Town Club a close victory.

For the winners, Javeria recorded a hat-trick scoring in the 11th, 22nd and 52nd minutes while Rameen added one (28th). Veera Ayoub struck two goals (24th, 34th) and Eshal Fiaz fired one (61st) for Islamabad.

The winning team received a cash prize of Rs300,000 along with the trophy while the runners-up were handed a cash prize of Rs200,000.

The fair play award went to Sindh team, for which they got Rs100,000. Rameen, the best player of the tournament, pocketed Rs 40,000. Javeria, the event’s top scorer, got a cash prize of Rs30,000. Tooba Adrees was declared the best goalkeeper for which she received a cash prize of Rs30,000.
