PSP worker found dead with throat cut in Landhi

KARACHI: A worker of the Pak Sarzameen Party was found dead with slit throat in Landhi on Sunday, police said.

They added that the body of Tabish Taqi, 24, was found in Aqeel Memorial Park, in the Landhi-2 area.

The police suspected that he was kidnapped, tortured and killed somewhere else and later on his body was thrown where it was found.

Landhi SHO Shahzad Ali ruled out the possibility of a targeted killing saying that the murder appeared to be linked with some personal enmity.

The officer said that the victim, father of one child, had recently divorced his wife. However, he added that the family had not lodged an FIR yet.

Firing on a party office in DHA

Gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on an office of a political party in Defence late on Saturday night, police said.

Darakhshan police SHO Haji Sanaullah said that armed motorcyclists opened fire on the office of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional located in the commercial area of Saba Avenue and fled.

Three bullets pierced the glass entrance doors of the office. Two spent bullet casings fired from a 30-bore pistol were found at the crime scene, the police added.

The police registered a case on a complaint of PML-F leader Zakir Husain.

The police officer added that they would try to get the closed-circuit television camera footages from the nearby locations on Monday, which might help identify the attackers.
