Punjab sends Rs10m aid to Sindh

KARACHI, Jan 9; The Punjab government has sent Rs 10 million for the cyclone affected people in Badin to be utilised for the construction of a model village in Golo Mandhro.

A cheque of the amount, which is a part of Rs 15 million grant-in-aid, announced by the Punjab government for the victims of 1999 cyclone in Badin, was handed over to Sindh chief secretary Mohammad Javed Ashraf Hussain by Punjab communications secretary Brig (retd) Shadab Ali Khan.

This amount will be utilised to build 176 houses with the provision of two rooms, veranda and cattle pond along with mosques and primary schools in the village.
