Muzaffargarh returns three jiyalas to NA

MUZAFFARGARH: The Pakistan People’s Party won three out of six NA seats from the district.

On the remaining three seats, two independents and a PTI candidate made it to the national assembly.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, in NA-181, independent candidate Dr Shabbir Mohsin Qureshi defeated [independent] Sultan Mahmood Hinjra and Mustafa Khar of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

Dr Shabbir, who was denied PTI ticket, got 64,012 votes while Hinjra polled 54,213 ballots.

Jamshed Dasti defeated

In NA-182, PPP’s Mehr Irshad Sial defeated Awami Raj Party chief Jamshed Dasti. Sial got 53,126 votes and Dasti 50,607. In NA-183, PPP’s Raza Rabbani Khar got 57,289 votes while runner-up is Fiaz Husan Chajra who got 48,691 votes.

In NA-184, PPP’s Nawab Iftikhar Ahmed, son of late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, won with 47,903 votes whereas runner-up Jamshed Dasti was behind with 36,000 tally. In NA-185, independent candidate Basit Bukhari received 94,282 votes and defeated PTI’s Moazam Jatoi who obtained 72,822 votes. Bukhari’s wife Zahra Basit was PTI candidate for NA-184.

In NA-186, PTI’s Talal Gopang won with 62,915 ballots while runner-up Dawood Jatoi got 53,000.

For provincial seats, the winners are PP-268 Qasim Hinjra (PML-N), PP-269 Azhar Abbas (PML-N), PP-270 Ajmal Chandia (Awami Raj Party), PP-271 Nawab Mansoor (PTI), PP-272 Basit Sultan (independent), PP-273 Sibtain Raza (PTI), PP-274 Raza Bukhari (PTI), PP-275 Khurram Leghari (independent), PP-276 Aun Hameed (PTI), PP-277 Alamdar Qureshi (independent), PP-278 Niaz Gashkori (PTI), and PP-279 Ashrar Rind (PTI).
