PSP to have its own chief minister in Sindh, says Kamal

HYDERABAD: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairman Mustafa Kamal has said that his party will sweep general election in Karachi and Hyderabad and have its own chief minister.

He told journalists before leading a big rally from PSP office in Latifabad Unit-9 on Wednesday that after forming government in the province, they would beautify the two main cities of Sindh, Karachi and Hyderabad, within six and three months, respectively, and rid the cities of heaps of garbage and potholed roads.

He said the PSP would bring about significant change in society. The party’s lawmakers would never say that they had no powers to work and resolve civic issues. After seven days, people would take rest at their homes while PSP lawmakers would be up all night to resolve their problems, he said.

He said that no parties were running election campaign in Karachi except for PSP as people were fulminating against their leaders and rejecting them. “Two years and four months back, we decided to stand up without fearing for our lives and brought people together without any discrimination of race, sect and others. Today, PSP has fielded its candidates in Qasimabad, Latifabad and entire Hyderabad,” he said.

He slammed Muttahida Qaumi Movement and said the party’s unchallenged rule swallowed up three generations. The world had landed on moon but people of Hyderabad and Karachi were still mired in the problems of acute shortage of water, overflowing gutters, run-down infrastructure, poor health and education facilities, energy crises etc, he said.

He said in answer to a question about PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif that Mr Sharif should have the right to defend his case.

About the use of harsh language by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, he said that all players had a level playing field this time, so it was better to let people decide who they would like to be their leader.

Mr Kamal announced names of some activists of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz-Arisar, MQM-P, Rajasthani and Rao community who had joined PSP. PSP president Anis Qaimkhani and other leaders were also present.
