Malakand woes

MALAKAND has been facing a severe dearth of basic facilities like hospitals, schools, roads and drinking water. It is ravaged by terrorism and natural disasters.

Most families of the area depend on remittances. Most people work in the Gulf countries to send money back to their families. But the area is underdeveloped and has no source of revenue. The area was a tax-free zone which was the only relief for the poor.

The people of Malakand ask the government to not impose taxes in the region and maintain the special status of Malakand division.
