‘PPP is fighting against poverty’

GUJAR KHAN: PPP is committed to bringing a positive change in the lives of peasants, labourers and low-income families and the party leadership has never hesitated in offering great sacrifices for Pakistan, said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said at a public gathering in Gujar Khan Tuesday evening.

The PPP chairman said his grandfather gave his life for democracy as did his mother and that he is now also working towards changing the lives of low-income families.

“This is my first election campaign and I hope the people of Pakistan will stand with me in realising my dream of changing the lives of people by making the country strong and economically stable,” he said.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was given a warm welcome by party workers in Gujar Khan. He said PPP has always raised a voice for the poor people of Pakistan and has a history of strengthening the federation of Pakistan. He said his party is not contesting the elections against any politician but against poverty and backwardness.

He said his party will launch Kissan cards and will ensure financial security for farmers. Women and those in need will be given interest-free loans and food stores will be opened in all union councils to provide quality products at cheaper rates under the Bhook Mitao card system, he said.

Former prime minister and NA-58 candidate Raja Pervez Ashrad, PP-8 candidate Raja Khurram Pervez Ashraf and veteran party leader Mirza Abdul Rehman also addressed the gathering. They said democracy and development will be resumed in the country under Bilawal’s leadership.

The PPP chairman later left for rallies in Jhelum and Lala Musa.
