Shaun Marsh to be fit for Pakistan series

SYDNEY: Australia’s Test line-up have received a much-needed boost with the news of Shaun Marsh is on track to feature in the Test series against Pakistan in October.

Meanwhile, Marsh sustained a shoulder injury playing for Glamorgan in English county cricket. He returned home last week raising speculations over his participation for the Pakistan tour.

However, Cricket Australia’s medicos have determined the left-hander won’t need surgery. Moreover, they have admitted that he will be ready for the tour to the UAE.

With Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft all suspended, Marsh looms as a crucial figure in a Test side, Fox Sports reported.

“Shaun consulted a specialist in relation to his AC joint injury and they have decided that there is no need for surgery,” CA’s medical officer John Orchard said.

“He’ll now undergo rehabilitation with a focus on ensuring he is available for selection ahead of the next away tour against Pakistan,” he added.
