TTS faculty salary

TENURE track system (TTS) was introduced in the universities of Pakistan to attract professionals of high calibre. It has helped significantly during the past few years in reducing brain-drain from the country.

Main theme of the TTS was that the faculty should focus and concentrate on academics and research without worrying about how to run kitchen and pay the bills. They don’t have to look for part-time jobs. Only this way can we achieve the target of self-sustainability.

Salaries of the faculty on BPS are raised every year. This is justifiable owing to inflation. But, unfortunately, the salaries of the faculty on TTS have not been increased for the last three years. The difference in salary of BPS and TTS has decreased, although TTS faculty does not have any other benefit except salary.

The TTS faculty was hoping for an increase in salary this year. But nothing has been heard to date. Such discrimination may lead to a deterioration of the system as it would not be possible for the faculty to concentrate on their academic activities.

The Higher Education Commission chairman should look into the matter urgently.
